Question: What is meant by an Authorized Risk Decline transaction?

Answer: When a transaction is marked as "Authorized_Risk_Declined" on Cybersource, it means that you have the ability to manually approve the transaction and proceed with fulfillment after conducting your own checks with the customer. This type of transaction is given a code of 481.

There are three types of ECI codes for 481 transactions. Two of these can be approved after verification, while one should be declined.

  • Note: Please make sure to check the ECI value under Payment information - Payer Authentication tab of transactions HOLD with the reason code 481 and take the decision as per mentioned in the table below:
