Release Notes - March 2026
Release notes - XPay - March 2026
We’re excited to share this month’s product updates, focused on improving transaction transparency, enabling richer reporting, and expanding our payment integrations. These enhancements are designed to give merchants deeper insights, greater control, and more flexibility across their payment operations.
Transaction Failure Tagging on Merchant Portal & Backoffice
To improve visibility into transaction outcomes, we’ve introduced failure classification tags across both the Merchant Portal and Backoffice.
With this update, every failed transaction is now clearly labeled as either a technical failure (system, gateway, or infrastructure-related) or a customer-side failure (e.g., insufficient funds, authentication issues).
This enhancement enables merchants and operations teams to quickly identify the root cause of failures without manual investigation. As a result, teams can respond faster, reduce resolution time, and make more informed decisions when optimizing payment flows or escalating issues.

By distinguishing between failure types, merchants gain clearer insights into performance and can better focus their efforts on what truly impacts conversion.
PayFast Raast R2P Integration
We have successfully integrated PayFast with Raast Request-to-Pay (R2P), further strengthening our real-time payment capabilities.
With this integration, merchants can initiate payment requests that customers can instantly authorize through their supported banking apps, enabling a seamless and secure account-to-account payment experience.
Raast payments can be easily enabled directly from the Gateway Settings, simply select Raast payment method type and acquirer Payfast to get started.

By leveraging Raast R2P, merchants benefit from faster payment confirmations, reduced dependency on traditional payment flows, and improved convenience for customers. This also supports the growing adoption of real-time payments in the region.
B2B Payment API with Payment Method Selection
To support more advanced business use cases, we’ve enhanced our B2B Payment API with the ability to explicitly control available payment methods at checkout.
With this update, businesses can define which payment methods should be presented at the time of transaction initiation, enabling more tailored and controlled payment experiences for specific partners, agreements, or use cases. This ensures that only the most relevant payment options are shown to end users, improving both efficiency and conversion.
By enabling precise control over payment method availability, this enhancement helps streamline B2B payment flows, enforce preferred payment routes, and deliver a more optimized and consistent checkout experience.

Safepay Integration with Shopify Credit Card App
We have enhanced our Shopify ecosystem by integrating Safepay with the Shopify Credit Card (CC) App.
This update allows Shopify merchants to leverage Safepay’s payment capabilities within their credit card processing setup, expanding their payment acceptance options while maintaining a smooth checkout experience. The integration ensures better flexibility for merchants and supports a wider range of payment preferences, helping improve checkout success rates and overall customer satisfaction.
We continue to evolve our platform with a strong focus on transparency, scalability, and expanding payment capabilities. More enhancements are on the way, and we look forward to your feedback as we keep improving the payments experience.
